Obvious questions

There are some obvious questions that you tend to get from friends in India when you travel to US for the first time, like
Visited a strip club?
You still a Virgin?
Got urself a chick?
..... as if it is mandatory that you loose your virginity here or it's land meant to lose your virginity or there are chicks waitng for desi dood's to sweep them off their feet and make love to them (i mean 'have sex').
Might be they think that it's easy, go to a bar/club/pub, drink, dance and wake up the next day with a girl in your bed. Hope that was the case, I would consider myself lucky. Damn lucky.

Might be some of the hollywood movies are to be blamed for this. A guy meets a girl, they talk, have some cofee/drink and next we see the girl dressing up in the guys room after the act.

But what we don't understand is that first 'it's a movie' and second 'the rules are different when it comes to desi's ' (I don't know what the rules are, else i would be blogging about them rather than this topic)

Why we Indian guys so desparate? I rememeber some stand-up comedian refering to us as 'Downloading bast****'.

Hope i won't be asked these questions anymore but incase you are asked such questions the best way to answer it is 'NoComments', just leaving some room for doubt and giving your friends something to discuss over their weekend drink.

Stop me..

Somebody stop me from the marathon of watching friends.

I shouldn't have bought the DVD's in the first place.
It's an addiction.
Everytime I watch I happen to ponder "what made this sitcom so famous?"
Is it because
> It's easier to relate to the life they are leading?
> We get to see freindship that stands the test of time?
> Laughter in every alternate frame?
> People with different backgrounds, aspirations and characters gelling so well?
> Simple fundas of life that we get to learn?

I guess characters in it make it different and likable. Every character in this sitcom has a trait like..
Chandler's comic timing.
Phoebe's weirdness.
Joey's IQ.
Ross's sinusoidal life (or rather 'attenuated sinusoidal life').
Monica's clean-freak nature.
Rachel's hilarious expressions.

It's never possible to pick just one character that you like. It's like a jigsaw puzzle with these six characters as the pieces, it would be incomplete with even one missing piece.

It's sad that the sitcom has come to an end. Not sure if we will have another sitcom like Friends that can actually make you 'laugh the hell out'.

As I am nearing the end of this post it is dawning on me that I actually enjoy watching this stuff and should not be repenting.

Ok, I guess now I got to get myself another pack of wafers and get to the 4th season for the n'th time.

First Business venture

Year: 2003
Location: College.
Pardners: Two other crazy friends.
Investment: 1500 (80 me and 10-10 the other two)
Success: -200% (a rough figure)
Business: Chilli Stall.

During the college fest we put up the 'Chilli Stall' which supposedly was a huge success at some other college fest. It was similar to the 'Rose Stall' stuff where you dedicate a message to somebody/anybody and the rose stall guys/gals deliver it to the 'somebody/anybody' along with a rose (could be red, yellow or white) and then charge you a hefty amount for it.
Our chilli stall provided the same service but the messages were delivered along with chillis and at lower cost.
We had ....
Red 'Hot' chillis: If you had the hots for somebody
Green chillis: If you liked somebody
Simla mirch: If you desliked/hated/detested/pooh-poohed somebody

Businesss picked up really well the first day but the second day it faded away faster than it picked up and the third day we shut it down.
We were three OK looking guys trying to sell chillis where as the rose stall had nice looking gals taking down messages and someimes even helping in composing the message. This expedited our shutting of the Chilli stall.

Moral:
Business succesful somewhere need not be the same everywhere.
The parameters for a succesful business differ with places, people and time.
Presentation is as important as the product/idea.

Experience: Adventurous....insane ......... freakin crazy!!!!!
